We spent this morning washing clothes and preparing lessons for the project phase of our expedition. The team decided to have a well-deserved brunch cooked by the Crow’s Nest kitchen before setting off in two mutates to our project – Salilira Primary School near Seronko.
On the way we stopped off to buy supplies, including a week’s food and all the hardware materials for the building project. We finally made it to the school around 4pm and were greeted by hundreds of excited pupils and the cheerful staff. We were bombarded with children keen to see us and ask us every question possible but eventually made it down to a classroom which the school had set aside for us as a base amp.
The Headmaster, Sam, then arranged for a scrumptious dinner of cabbage, potatoes, beans and rice before we set up our tents just outside and settled in for an early night.
